Chic Style On A Shoestring Budget With Old Navy

When I was packing for Disney World, I realized that all of my summer clothes, mainly my shorts, didn’t fit.  They were all 2 sizes too big.  Granted, I’m not one to complain about losing weight, but I did realize that if I didn’t wanna look like a bum that I was going to have to look for some new clothes that were great for summer but fit my budget.  (Or, lack of a budget.)  I ran in Old Navy with about 10 minutes of time to spare, and hit the summer jackpot!  Check out some of my fab finds!

I love this simple cross-front jersey dress – great by itself, or with a cardigan to dress it up.  I bought it in this color (my signature pink!) and I’m planning to wear it with a white or light pink tank top underneath it and some simple flip flops.  Then I can dress it up with a fun necklace or some chunky bracelets.  Oh, and PS?  It’s only $14.99!

I also fell in love with this sweet little lined sundress with the diagonal stripes – I love the cut and the pattern is adorable.  At 5′8″ I have longer legs, so it’s a tad shorter than my comfort level, but I think I can learn to get over it.  Or, I’ll pull an old trick from my days in Catholic School — wear a pair of shorts underneath.  I know it’s a major fashion no-no, but if you won’t tell, I won’t either. I’ll confess to one of my major fashion pitfalls – I bought this dress in a pattern and a solid (purple).  I loved the cut that much. This dress runs from $15-$20, depending on color.

The last sweet little find that I scooped up were these floral cut-out babydoll tanks.  They are lightweight, cool, and trendy.  I may or may not have grabbed this in two colors too, and um, one of them MIGHT be pink.  Jeez, I’m bad.  Please, someone stop me!  Oh yeah, each of these are $14.99, on sale from $19.99.  Sa-weet!

I have to say, I’m really impressed with Old Navy’s merchandise right now.  Apparently I’m not the only one — the entire shopping mall was practically deserted, except for Old Navy, where women were literally lunging for the last dress in their size.  (That may or may not also be something I’m guilty of.  Ahem.)  If you haven’t been by there lately, check it out.  Happy Shopping!

I’ve always loved Old Navy. They’ve always had cute clothes for decent prices. I was quite dissapointed when the Old Navy near me closed down. Of course it was right when I was losing weight and could use new clothes! LOL!

These are some great finds. I was at old navy a few weeks ago and saw some great summer dresses. I definitely need to get back in and do some “mommy” shopping.

I’ve only shopped at Old Navy for my daughter. I think I might have to check them out for me. Cute clothes. They have a commercial that features a longer dress that I thought was cute.

    Thanks for the tip.

I have been wanting to get some of these little dresses for the post-baby-body. I know it will take me a bit to get back into my real clothes, and thought these little casual dresses would be a perfect transition! I will have to go pick a few up soon before my size is gone!

I love Old Navy–I used to just buy the boys’ clothes there but realized they have alot of offer an adult too! And these are great with capri (or shorter) length leggings!

I have never shopped there for myself. Do they carry petite sizes? The prices you listed are great…I’ll need to check them out!

I do love Old Navy, but I do have a hard time finding clothes (especially pants) that fit me there…there clothes seen to run a little big (I’m a size 0, which is not always a good thing!) Actually, last week I found a super cute trench coat (not a long one, one that comes to your hip) in the kids’ section for only $12!! I got it in size extra large and it fits perfectly! It doesn’t look like a kids’ item at all!! I’ve gotten many compliments on it! So, don’t ignore the kids’ clothes! :)

  11. I love finding stylish and affordable clothes at Old Navy. It’s great to get some staples to extend the wardrobe.
