Rain Couture

22 Comments 18 May 2009

If in the past I’ve failed to mention it, it’s time I spilled the beans. I’m obsessed. Yes, I have a very, very, very unhealthy obsession. Be it night or day, I dream constanly about the day that I can wrap my hands around my very own Chanel bag. It’s my own personal obsession, my own personal goal. To save up enough money to one day buy my sweet, sweet Chanel bag…wow. My friend and fellow fashionista Audrey and I were discussing how she fulfilled her designer dreams on her 30th birthday with her very own Louis Vuitton bag. I’m 26 now — I’m thinking maybe, just maybe, I can put some money aside starting now and make that my goal as well. Rain Couture

Of course, I’d go to great lengths to protect that bag. You don’t invest that kind of money in something and not treat it well! So what about rainy days? I live in Louisiana and in the summer it rains here, quite literally, almost every day. It was then that I stumbled upon Rain Couture and it was the “ah ha!” moment I had been waiting for. Now you no longer have to choose between your designer bag and your expensive blowout when you find yourself stuck in a sudden summer sprinkle! These awesome bags come in two sizes, and even allow you to stay fashionable while protecting your fashion investment. It seems they are very popular — when I clicked the link to buy at the online store, it said they are completely sold out due to high demand – even with a fairly high price tag! So what do you think? Would you use a bag from Rain Couture? Let me know in the comments – I’m curious to hear your thoughts!

I’d use one but honestly I’d pass out if I ever got a real Chanel bag.

  2. Ann G. says:

I wouldn’t use the Rain bags, I live in Oregon and could certainly use one of these but first of all they are expensive and second, knowing me I would forget it all the time anyway.

  3. Maureen says:

I wouldn’t use the Rain Bags, heck my purse isn’t that fancy.. But I have 4 nieces who are Fashionnista’s.. and they would use them no doubt.

The Little Sprouts Bounce House would look fantastic in My Backyard.. We would have the coolest house in the neighborhood.. What fun!!! Thanks!

  4. Tamara B. says:

I bet girls in the age about 21 to 27 would love these

  5. Cecile says:

Very good idea, but the price is a bit high!

  6. Anne says:

I don’t think I would use this product; although I’m sure there is a market for it….I’m just not going to spend that much moolah!

  7. Angela says:

Those are so unique and interesting, yet I would totally buy one!

  8. Tina says:

    What a unique idea!

  9. AutumH says:

That’s a pretty unique idea. I’m not much on name brand bags. Jeans are more my style, but I think it’s because I haven’t found the bag that screams my name just yet.

  10. Stephanie says:

I’d totally use one! The Hurricane Black is so cute!

  11. Christie says:

Oh, that’s a good idea to save up for a long time but just a little at a time. I really want a Coach bag (real, of course!) and they have some for around $300 now, which is bad….relatively.
When i do get a new bag, I def. don’t want it to ruin in the rain…these are cute and would be perfect!

  12. Sky says:

I’d use it! Most often than not…I’ll keep my purse in the car and just carry my wallet if it’s raining. It’s a pain, but I don’t want to take the chance and ruin my bag!

  13. Leane says:

I think I would rather put the money toward another nice purse. It is an ok idea, but def pricey. I’m a little too country, I’m not afraid to wrap my purse in a plastic bag real quick and run through the rain.
    :)

  14. tuesday says:

    That is a great idea!

  15. Tina W says:

I think it’s an interesting idea but I agree with a previous commenter – you’d need to remember to have it with you. Although, if it rains pretty much every day, I guess it would be easy enough to remember to keep it with you. Maybe even have one in the car all the time.

  16. It sounds like a great idea. I don’t normally spend enough on my bags to worry about them getting wet. But if I did invest in something so expensive, I’d definitely do what I could to protect it.

  17. Christine W says:

It is a good idea but the price is way too high for just a flimsy bag to protect another bag!

  18. Callie says:

Huh, once again something I did not know that existed.

  19. gillian says:

I’m not tredy enough to carry one of these!

  20. Ann says:

I have the black quilted one with the gold chain. (knockoff) That’s as close as I’ll probably get to the real thing.

  21. Huguette E. says:

The first one is ok but not sure about the other two. Sold out already! I’m not in the rain enough to have to protect my handbag.

  22. Dana says:

I think some of them are cute…at first I thought the price was a bit high, but if you have several bags that it could protect, I think it may be worth it. You would just need to remember to have it with you …in case of sudden showers.
