Confessions of a Shopaholic {Giveaway CLOSED}

I’m sure it comes as no surprise to you that one of my favorite all-time book series was “Confessions of a Shopaholic”. I devoured each new addition to the series as it was released, and laughed right alongside of Becky Bloomwood’s hopeless shopping and spending habits — especially since they so often mimicked my own. (Don’t laugh at me or pity me, I’ve since gotten them under control! But it’s true, I was once a constant impulsive spender!) I suppose it was a couple of years ago now that I heard they were making a movie out of the book series, and I eagerly awaited it’s movie theater debut. Of course, with a 2 year old, things don’t always go as planned, and I never did manage to see it in the theater…
For the rest of you with rowdy 2 year olds or simply not enough time on your hands to catch this movie in theaters, CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC is being released on June 23rd on Blu-ray and DVD! If you aren’t familiar with the movie, the main character Rebecca Bloomwood (Isla Fisher) takes a job for the less-than-glamorous Successful Saving in order to support her out-of-control spending habit. Hilarity ensues and romance blossoms with an amazing supporting cast including Hugh Dancy, Joan Cusack, Kristin Scott Thomas, John Lithgow, Krysten Ritter, and John Goodman! Bonus material includes bloopers, deleted scenes, a music video, and much much more! I’ve been told it was hilarious, and I can’t wait to see it!

This is my favorite book series as well. I tell everyone I know about these books and have loaned them out many times. I keep hoping that she will come out with more on this series or another similar to it. I also have had my own run in with impulsive shopping. But like you, I have worked very hard to overcome the addiction. Which is why I must win this DVD because one of my restricitons is that I have quit buying them on DVD and wait for them to come on cable…

I absolutely LOVE this book series. I came across it a year ago, and devoured the series. You see, I am a bit compulsive/ obsessive (that isn’t always a bad thing, right?) about buying books. Anytime I find an author or series that I like, I MUST read all of the books that author has ever written, and if I can find them cheap enough, I will buy them. This drives my husband batty! I would love to win the DVD to add to my collection of films from books! I have a lot of those too! LOL.

I can’t wait to see this movie. I loved the book where she marries Luke, and his mother wants to throw the wedding, and her mother also wants to throw the wedding, and she agrees to both! Oh that was funny. I listened to it on audio while making a long drive a while back. It makes the time go faster!
