Dress To Impress With Talbots ($250 Gift Card Giveaway!)

Red Chair Confessions has been creating quite a bit of buzz in the blogosphere with their fun videos that piqued the curiosity of almost everyone who watched them, including me! I had no idea who was behind the fun videos that were clearly taking the web by storm, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it was Talbots!
Apart from the fact that I once had a $300 blue jean emergency on the emergency credit card my parents gave me in college (look, NOT buying them would have been like losing money – they were on SALE!) I do have a different confession to make – and it’s this:
I thought only teachers and moms shopped at Talbots. Oh, wait. I am both a teacher and a mom. Hmm.
In all seriousness, I never really gave the place a chance! There is a Talbots a mere half of a mile from my house, and I never bothered to step foot inside of it. Which, really, is crazy, considering how much I adore shopping. And the teacher/mom thing aside – honestly I just never really thought about trying Talbots when I was looking for new clothing.
But, um, wow, I was so wrong! Last week I ran into Talbots, shaking the rain from my hair and turning around to close my umbrella before I turned around and saw them. It was love at first sight. I’m talking about the most exquisite pair of brown leather riding boots, with perfect gold buckle accents on each side. Clutching my $250 gift card, I hurried forward and asked the salesgirl for a size 9.5, praying they would fit. Naturally, they didn’t, but the size 9 did! Sweet victory!
Elated with the discovery of my gorgeous new best friends, I continued browsing the store, wishing that I had a good reason to buy a new wool coat. (I live in Louisiana, sweatshirts and light jackets are about all we need, sadly.) I moved on to the sale section, and snagged a nice black and white summer dress (which I wore today!) and a couple of sleeveless tops to carry me through the fall season.
I also loved the pink sheath dress and pencil skirt, I wish I could have taken them both home! Pinks and purples are great fall colors, and I just think both of these items would go a long way towards updating a basic wardrobe with a young, chic look. I loved the tailored look of the clothing, but that it was still young and even a bit edgy. I fell in love with some of the bold colored items, including a mustard-colored jacket, and was even tempted to bring home some leopard-print shoes. Overall, I was very impressed with the selection, and I think if you haven’t been to Talbots, or haven’t been in a while, then it’s time to check it out!

When I think of Talbots I think of special treat which before I had kids I used to give myself all the time. But since having 3 children, I shop at Talbots when I need a special article of clothing that I want to be classy, stylish and feminine. I know the quality is there in all their products, and the styling is so classic that it will stand the test of time and be versatile no matter what the current fashion trends are.
Okay, down to business, I need a new winter coat so, so badly! I would love to purchase the Cashmere Blend Coat in that gorgeous Camel color. I could use the GC towards getting this magnificent coat that will last me for years.
I also love the Belted Plaid Coat, it reminds me of one I had several yeas ago and I wore it all the time. A very chic look that will work with so many different types of outfits.
I think the Floral Lace Sheath Dress is fantastic for the upcoming holiday season, Oooh, I’d love to wear this to a few parties!

I love the Jersey Knit Dress in color Magic in 24W $169.00. This is a true purple color and is lovely. A couple of things I really like on talbots.com is the Sweater Duster and the driving moccasins are very cute! THANKS!
I love the sweaters and it’s that time of season, so I’d pick out something in cashmere or perhaps suede. And naturally I’d have to get some colder weather footwear, such as the leather ankle boots. Then I’d top it off with a new handbag – again something suede – hobo style. A little class, a little chic and I’m ready to go!

Belted tweed coat and cable knit pull over sweater!
I really need a new coat, mine is threadbare as my kids are the only ones ever getting new clothes! I would choose the wool/angora coat! I like the belted coat too, great color.

I LOVE Talbots! Just received a new wardrobe – grey tweed pants, purple swing sweater jacket, green scroll collar sweater and tee-shirt set, flaired, cuffed dressy jeans, a versatile white blouse, grey sweater set, and red blouse too. I have to admit that I am addicted to the sweater sets. I wear everything to work and am always asked where I shop. With two daughters in college and a young daughter and son at home, full-time job and husband currently deployed for a year, I do not have time to shop very often, and appreciate the assistance I receive at Talbots and Talbots on-line. Great fabrics, great clothes, and great prices!!!!
