First Look: Daniel Day Lewis as Lincoln

0 Comments 08 August 2012

My job all through high school was at the local movie theater. From about 1997-2000 I saw almost every movie that came to the movie theater. Some were epic. Some were forgettable. But you never forget the epic movies because they just become a part of you.

Today I received in my inbox a first look at Daniel Day Lewis in the title role of LINCOLN. The movie is directed by Steven Spielberg, and will be opening in limited release on November 9, expanding on November 16, 2012.

I get the feeling that this is going to be one of those epic films. I get chills just looking at the image – I can’t wait to see the movie.

LINCOLN focuses on the last four months of the president’s life and the political strategizing he undertook at the close of the Civil War to ensure that slavery would be forever outlawed. “Our movie is really about a working leader who must make tough decisions and get things done in the face of overwhelming opposition,” Spielberg says.

Are you looking forward to seeing Lincoln? I can’t wait.
