Steal The Look: The Hot New App From Wet ‘N Wild

0 Comments 26 September 2014

As a child of the 80’s I will forever be a fan of Wet ‘N Wild cosmetics.  Remember the iconic looks that were created with those ever-affordable eye shadows and lipsticks in every imaginable shade?  It looked a little something like this, I believe:

How fabulous is that?  I’m not gonna lie, I kinda wanna bring this look back.

As the years have gone by I have turned into a bit of a makeup fanatic – trying every brand imaginable in my every-growing quest to find the best of the best.  Yet my favorite product is still, and I suspect always will be, Wet ‘N Wild’s amazing range of eyeshadows that are available at Walmart for under $5.  Yes, you read that right – you can get a pallet of 8 different Wet ‘N Wild eye shadows for under $5 at Walmart. Talk about Stealing the Look!!  They come in a ton of highly-pigmented shades, and are widely regarded by beauty fanatics like myself to be the best of the best.

Recently Wet ‘N Wild and Walmart offered me the opportunity to go to Las Vegas to cover the iHeartRadio Music Festival and the launch of their new Steal the Look app (available on the app store!).  I have had the opportunity to do lots of cool things in my career as a Walmart Mom, but I’ve gotta tell ya, this one really took the cake.  In my wildest dreams I would have never figured out how to combine blogging, makeup, and 20 of the hottest musical acts of 2014.  But last week, I did just that!

I met up with my fellow Walmart Mom, Heather, of The Domestic Diva, in Las Vegas and we headed to the Glam Lounge hosted by Wet ‘N Wild for makeovers.  It was so much fun, and Heather and I both LOVED our makeovers! The best part was that we were able to go back to the Glam Lounge at any point throughout the weekend to have our makeup done or to recreate a look by one of our favorite artists (hello Taylor Swift’s red lip and black eyeliner!).

We also had the opportunity to go to both nights of the iHeartRadio Music Festival which was sponsored by Wet ‘N Wild – and on the second night we had the opportunity to witness the worldwide premiere of the new advertising campaign by Wet ‘N Wild which encourages women to dare to be “Criminally Gorgeous”.  Check out the spot below:

It was so cool – it was like Wet ‘N Wild had totally taken over the MGM Garden Arena – there were “faux” police officers everywhere arresting women for being “criminally gorgeous” – it was absolutely hilarious.  Talk about making a serious impression.

The next day, Heather and I hung out at the iHeartRadio Music Festival Village and watched as hundreds of women had the opportunity to try out the app and “Steal the Look” – assisted by professional make up artists.  Then they could have their photo taken in front of a “lineup” before they took home a goodie bag full of their favorite Wet ‘N Wild products.

We had a great time watching all of the women come through and steal their favorite looks in the Wet ‘N Wild Beauty Hideout.  It was fun showing people how to use the app – it really is awesome!

One of the highlights of my weekend (besides singing along with Taylor Swift) was meeting the one and only Fergie, who has her own line with Wet ‘N Wild.  She was super cool – really laid back and low-key – happy to be there and really nice and it was fun hanging out with her and listening to her talk about her family and her love of Wet N Wild!
