Wiggle It, Just a Little Bit! {Giveaway CLOSED}
If you’re a loyal reader (thank you!) then you know I am obsessed in love with almost any and all beauty products. I’ve mentioned it on Feel Good Fashion and here on Chic Shopper Chick several times, but my one true obsession love is mascara. I currently have 3 different tubes of it in my makeup bag, and I’m not a bit too happy since I came down with pink eye on Monday and now need to throw them ALL out. If you’re a beauty fanatic like I am, you are probably aware of the high-end mascaras that have come out with vibrating varities in the past year or so. However, to date, there has been no “drugstore” version available.

My favorite mascara EVER was actually Maybelline’s Illegal Lengths mascara with a curved brush, but for some (*gasp*) unknown reason to me, Maybelline discontinued it. To make it up to me Thanks to my role as one of Walmart’s ElevenMoms, I was able to try out Maybelline Pulse Perfection (their new vibrating mascara) before it ever even hit shelves (can you tell I felt kinda cool?) According to Maybelline, Pulse Perfection delivers 7,000 vibrations per minute in 7 synchronized actions so lashes are transformed to perfection. Ok, so I know what you’re thinking “… hmm … why do I need vibrating mascara?”. My friend, you have come to the right place, because I have my own personal opinion on the matter! You see, I was taught to apply mascara starting at the base of my lashes, wiggling the brush back and forth until I reach the tips of my lashes. This helps distribute the product at the base (which gives your eyes a much more defined look) and just gives you better distribution of the mascara all around. Pulse Perfection takes the wiggling work out of your mascara routine for you!
Ok, so for the big question…does it work? My answer is YES! I plan to make you a video to show you how much I actually really like it, but alas, I have pink eye, and that video? Well, it would be not-so-hot. So, when I’m looking a little less…erm…pink around the eyes…I’ll make a video to show you why I like this product. However, in the meantime, here is my take on it! The vibrating takes a little getting used to for first time users (or the klutzy variety, as in my case) but it allows the mascara to go on quickly and nice and thick. Quick is definitely a plus for those 5 minute beauty routines! It elongates and thickens my lashes without a doubt, and I really like the way it looks. My only caveat: apply your second coat of this mascara before the first one is completely dry. I waited for them to dry the first time around and ended up with spider lashes. And as my friend Jillian would say, “nobody likes spider lashes!”. However, when you apply both coats after the other, the result is among the best I’ve gotten from any mascara on the market.

This product is not out in stores yet (this is, again, where I feel really cool for getting a sneak preview), but you can find it nationwide starting on May 28th for $14.95. Until then, you can purchase it exclusively from Walmart.com for $12.95. Honestly, I know that $15 for Maybelline mascara seems like a lot, but when you consider that other brands cost up to 3 times as much, plus you can grab it for $13 online? Well, I think it’s really a heck of a deal.
Would you like a chance to try out Maybelline Pulse Perfection Mascara before the masses as well? Thanks to Maybelline I have two tubes of it to giveaway to two very lucky Chic Shopper Chick readers! Your Best Face Forward! {Giveaway CLOSED}
When I was 16 years old, everyone thought I was so much older than I actually was. People made comments about it all the time (“Oh my GOODNESS you’re ONLY 16?! Wow, are your parents in trouble!”), and occasionally men in their late 20′s would ask me on dates or worse, make inappropriate comments to me or in my direction. My mom, being the good mom that she is, would shoot them dirty looks, quickly usher me away, and tell them in a growling voice, “she’s only 16!”. Naturally, I didn’t mind looking older than I was at 16, because it worked to my advantage! (And, since my mom is BOUND to read this, we’ll leave that at that. Ahem.)
Somewhere around hitting 21 years old, everything changed, and suddenly people started thinking I was much younger than I actually was. I remember being asked for ID while buying a lottery ticket (WHAT? Somebody’s gotta win, right?!), which simultaneously surprised and irritated me since I had been able to buy lottery tickets for 3 years at that point. It got progressively worse, at 22 years old people would ask me if I had considered where I was going for college yet – though in actuality I was a college senior and newly married. At 24 years old and 8 months pregnant, I had several different instances where people looked at my belly in shock and horror and flat out asked “How OLD are you?!” (My response? “You first!! How old are YOU?” with a sweet smile that told them to BUTT OUT.)
So, it seems the gods of aging or anti-aging have smiled upon me for most of my young adult life. I’m not silly enough to think this will go on forever though, nuh uh. I’m doing my part to take care of my skin and body so that I can prepare for the years ahead of me with a fanatical beauty routine that focuses heavily on skincare. There is a new product on the market called Tripeptinon – a small capsule of liquid that combines 17 amino acids to address your skin’s surface issues as well as underlying
issues such as supporting and connective tissue in your face. Applied as the very last facial skincare step at night during a 6 week regimen, Tripeptinon is being celebrated as THE best way to have youthful skin – kinda like a face lift in a capsule. Here’s the thing though, you don’t have to be *ahem* OLDER to use this stuff. No matter your age, your skin is constantly exposed to elements that are working against it, sun, wind, toxins in your environment, etc. That means that no matter your age, you’re at the perfect age to take care of your skin.
Win it! I have a 6 week supply of Tripeptinon to give away to one lucky CSC reader! To enter leave a comment for me on this post, and I’d luff you forever if you could say something with a bit more effort than “I wanna win.” or “enter me”. Oh, and I have final say over what comments qualify as effort. After your initial comment, every other (pertinent) comment left on this site on other posts from now through March 15th will count as an extra entry each.
