Designer Collaboration: Tucker for Target

Designer collaborations-pure genius. You get the great silhouettes, sophisticated styles and signature details from a designer you love but at a price that’s much easier to swallow. Collabs seem like one of the hottest things we’re seeing this Fall-from Christian Siriano for Payless, to Alexa Chung for Madewell (and about a million others in between), you can snag some really cool stuff without emptying your pocketbook!

The collab I’m fawning over most-and may or may not have a countdown calendar on my desk-is Tucker for Target. Gaby Basora’s line is so easy and so “Fall”; you can throw on any of her blouses with shorts as we move into the cooler temps and then layer them under blazers for a great pop of color or pattern once it gets cool. Not to mention the dresses-they are bold enough to stand on their own but work really well back to funky accessories or cool shoes. Tucker’s Fall collection has a general feeling of sophisticated whimsy.

Gilt recently offered a presale on the Target collection and it sold out within minutes! With the cheery colors and fun prints, we can see why. So if you want to get your hands on some of these fab pieces, my advice to you is put in the work. Call your Target to see when they’re actually putting out the stock. The official launch is September 12, but many times they just put the product out when they have room for it. If you live in an uber-chic urban area, you probably aren’t the only fashionista who’s swooning over this collection. Try going to a more “out of the way” store, or perhaps one in a (gasp!) less fashion-forward area of town, or even a nearby city. With looks like these, I may even drive to the ends of the Earth….

HUGE Sale At Hayden-Harnett – Run, wallet, RUN!

My friend Lindsay JUST emailed me today with news of this sale, because she and I are both obsessed with Hayden-Harnett.  Honestly, when I saw her email, I felt completely confused and out of it — how could there be THIS big of a sale and I didn’t know about it?  Have I been under a rock?  Am I losing my touch?  Oh. Wait.  Yeah, kinda.  I was at SxSW, and seeing as how I’m a horrible multi-tasker, I completely forgot about the rest of the world.
