My Pre-Baby Convertible Days
I’ve probably mentioned this before, but music is a huge part of my life. The right song can make or break my mood and I really enjoy creating different “soundtracks” for my life (I believe now we call those “playlists”, right?). Back before I had Little AG some of the best days were spent with the convertible top down and good songs blaring on the radio. Just remembering those days makes me smile – it was such a natural high. As you may have guessed, I’m a rather expressive person so I was often drumming on the steering wheel, singing loudly along, and, yes, dancing. (People love being next to me at stop lights – I’m endlessly entertaining!)
I don’t listen to just one type of music, and I don’t have a specific sound, so I feel that makes my choice of music rather eclectic. Rock, Pop, Alternative, Techno, Country, Rap, Folk, Bluegrass, Jazz, Hip Hop — I like bits of almost everything. Since I believe the music someone listens to can really tell you a lot about their personality, I decided it was time to start Chic Tunes Tuesday, a weekly column where I share 5 songs that I’m really loving that week.
So, here are this week’s Chic Tunes – straight from my iPhone! Maybe you’ll find some new music to add to your library, maybe you’ll expand your musical tastes a bit, or maybe you’ll leave me a comment telling me that I have awful taste in music! ;) Feel free to let me know what you’re listening to – I’m always looking for some great new music.
Looking back over this I’ve realized that it is a rather mellow list. Perhaps I’m feeling zen today?
1. Mercy – Duffy
2. Love Story (Pop Mix) – Taylor Swift
3. Hollywood’s Not America – Ferras
4. Lucky – Jason Mraz (feat. Colbie Calliat)
5. Love, Save the Empty – Erin McCarley

taylor is deadly!!!!SHE IS THE BEST SINGER!!!!!!!!!!!
That is a cute picture. A really nice background! I love the idea of having a soundtrack for my life and with being able to have multiple playlists with whatever device or application (like ilike on facebook) we can match our moods as you say.
Love the pre-baby days picture–it’s classic! I’m a Colbie Calliat fan because her voice is very unique.
I love Jason Mraz, too…and the Offspring. Can’t get enough Offspring…or Green Day. But I also love blues and bluegrass, just not as into them this week, LOL.
Awww pre-baby days!! I remember those…I think? Great mind must think alike because I do TUNESDAY too…just started a month or so ago!
I’m always looking for new great songs! I think I’m going to love your New Tuesday posts! Thanks so much :)
Haha! Mercy’s been in my head all night from the American Idol episode tonight!
Love this pic!! My hubby and I make a playlist with the important, fun, special songs of each year and have it ready by our anniversary. So far we have 5 years of OUR greatest hits!
Awww, what a great idea! :) Also a great idea for Valentine’s Day!
Good list!
I love (and miss!) pre-baby convertible days! My days are now filled with my two y/os rendition of “the wheels on the bus”. When I get a second away from him, I’ve been listening to The Fray a lot…I guess it relaxes me.
Love the convertible! I had a Sebring convert too – ice blue exterior, navy blue interior. We adopted my beautiful daughter in 2006 and part of my transition to mommyhood (and helping to pay for the adoption) was to sell it. I don’t regret it for a sec, but ahhhhhh, it was a bee-you-tee-ful car!
Lucky is one of my newest favorite songs too! And I am so much like you! I have playlists for every mood and I’m always creating new ones depending on what I like at the time. It’s fun! And I love the pic, oh, and not jealous at all. I have never ridden in a convertible.
Love the pic- and the playlist idea. :D
I love Jason Mraz!
Great playlist! That photo is great:)
Hahah Lori — those other songs are more hidden gems, if you will! :) And you are still totally chic, no song list would change that!
I’m a fan of Taylor Swift but I must say, I would have to hear the other ones to know the songs…..Yes, I’m so chic huh;)
Fun!
I loooove the picture of you!
