I’m sure by now you’ve heard me mention Hanes a few times on my blog. You know, like the time I went to Disney with them, or when I got comfortable with Hanes in New York City at BlogHer, or even more recently when our kids’ school hosted a sock drive in conjunction with Hanes to give well over 600 pairs of new socks to the homeless. It’s clear that I’m a huge fan of Hanes, but I’m also proud to sing their praises in the Social Mediasphere (I just made that word up, you’re welcome) – mostly because where most companies just sit around and talk about doing great things, Hanes just does them.
Hanes cares about others, hence the sock drive. They also care about the environment and have made leaps and bounds in their efforts to create more sustainable products, and also conserve energy while they do it. And don’t just take my word for it, they have been lauded again and again for their efforts – just last week it was released that they earned the coveted EPA Energy Star Sustained Excellence Award. And well, I hate to brag but it’s not the first time – it’s the third year in a row that they’ve received this honor.
See? I told you they rock.

As part of its sustainability commitment, Hanes created a line of EcoSmart™ products, including Hanes hoodies, socks, sweats and T-shirts that stay incredibly soft, wash after wash. Hanes EcoSmart products are made with fabric produced in part from recycled plastic bottles or recycled cotton. Hanes EcoSmart products will save the equivalent of more than 57 million plastic bottles from going into landfills this year. Additionally, Hanes EcoSmart Socks contain either some recycled cotton fiber or alternative flax fibers, while the fabric in 67 percent of Hanes men’s and boys’ undershirts is made using renewable energy.
Rock on Hanes, and congratulations. I’m honored to be a part of the Hanes Comfort Crew and can’t wait to see where we go from here! For more information, you can check out Hanes Green, or come hang out with the Comfort Crew over on the Hanes Facebook page.
Disclosure: While I do have an ongoing relationship with Hanes, it’s not a paid relationship. I really am just in love with this awesome brand and so proud to be involved with the Comfort Crew. So this post? It’s all me, baby.
