Wall-E = Funn-E

1 Comment 24 November 2008

I was so so excited to review Wall-E because I think it has become one of the most loved films of the year! Wall-E is the story of a little trash-compacting robot who was designed to clean up Earth. Wall-E falls in love with another robot, EVE, and follows her into outer space on an adventure! I think I was so taken by this film because of the emotions that are shown by this adorable robot! You can’t help but just love Wall-E to pieces after seeing this film — so trust me, if you haven’t seen it, this is one you HAVE to watch alongside of your kids.

After hundreds of lonely years of doing what he was built for, WALL•E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) discovers a new purpose in life (besides collecting knick-knacks) when he meets a sleek search robot named EVE. EVE comes to realize that WALL•E has inadvertently stumbled upon the key to the planet’s future, and races back to space to report her findings to the humans (who have been eagerly awaiting word that it is safe to return home). Meanwhile, WALL•E chases EVE across the galaxy and sets into motion one of the most exciting and imaginative comedy adventures ever brought to the big screen. Joining WALL•E on his fantastic journey across a universe of never-before-imagined visions of the future, is a hilarious cast of characters including a pet cockroach, and a heroic team of malfunctioning misfit robots.

Wall-E was released on November 18, 2008, courtesy of Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, just in time for the holidays. Disney Pixar’s hilarious box-office favorite transports viewers to another galaxy with five different versions. Consumers can choose from two exciting Blu-ray disc versions and from three standard definition DVD versions. Each home entertainment release contains the feature film and a payload of fantastic bonus features, including an exciting all-new animated short film BURN•E, the story of a stalwart repair robot by the same name who is determined to do his job, but is foiled at every turn by WALL•E’s adventures aboard the Axiom..*

Disney*Pixar, in conjunction with the November 18th release of Wall-E on DVD and Blu-ray, has partnered with NASA to conduct a contest that is out of this world! Wall-E has been selected as the official spokes-robot to promote a naming contest for a new Mars rover scheduled to launch in 2009. Essay entries from students aged 5 to 18 are now being accepted!

Disney will provide prizes to students submitting winning essays, including a trip to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., where the rover is under construction. The grand prize winner will have an opportunity to place a signature on the spacecraft and take part in the history of space exploration.

More information about this awesome contest can be found at http://marsrovername.jpl.nasa.gov
