I’ve been wanting to implement a Street Style section of Chic Shopper Chick for a while now, and I have been gathering pictures for a couple of weeks now to bring to you when I can. I am at WordCamp NOLA this weekend and yesterday at lunch, I shocked/freaked out some new friends when I darted to the window to take a picture of this chick and her rockin’ style! I loved the tight, striped navy and white boat neck shirt paired with a bright red skirt. The whole look felt very “french” to me, don’t you think? It has a certain je ne sais quoi about it. I loved that she paired it with a red bag and a pair of simple pointed flats. {PS – What do you think of flats/ballet flats in general? Weigh in on yesterdays post on ballet flats!}
So what do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments!

I love the outfit, I think the purse is great, maybe different shoes though. I think it’s a very chic look!
Love that skirt!
I love it… I wish I could pull something like that off.
Her outfit looks vintage inspired. I love the high-waist on the skirt. I love the flats, as mentioned before. Classic red, white, and blue.
The outfit is very cute and definitely has a french vibe.
It is very cute on her frame. I have to agree that with the others…I love your candid shots, but would also love a couple close-ups. KUDOS for your quick reaction time.
The outfit is ok..but that Handbag..OH I Love that! A close up of that bag is totally a Must!
Very cute outfit!! Love it.
I love the outfit, but did you freak her out a little what with the random picture taking?? LOL. I LOVE it!
I love this look. It has a classic/modern look to it.
This is a great outfit, although I agree with Betty – she needs a different colored handbag. A navy bag would have set it off nicely, I think.
She’s cute and carried off the bold combination. The purse seems lost in the red of the skirt and maybe should of followed the color of the shoes/top. That purse was made to be a bold accessory and you hardly noticed it was part of the ensemble. Think it’s the stripes that make me think french
I love the outfit. She looks carefree and fresh. The shoes look great as well.
i think it is cute
Personally don’t do stripes but LOVE the skirt what a great line and the higher fitted waist is so flattering!
As a guy, who happened to see her live with you, I think that she was quite cute. At the time, I thought that you should have gone outside and asked to take her picture, but now I think the candid, action shots look much better. I must admit that I didn’t even notice that she had a purse or shoes… some things aren’t important to guys.
I kine do like the outfit, but it doesn’t look completely right to me. I would have preferred an oversized clutch or slouchier bag rather than a stiff satchel, which doesn’t seem to go with the “easy chic” the outfit was going for. And I would have preferred the ballet flats to match the stripes on the shirt, or the other way around.
But I do see what she was going for, and she obviously has a fun style!
Super chic!! I love the outfit.. and the idea of you darting after strangers with a camera. Did you slip your blog address to the fashionista so she could check herself out?
